VWAR JS Watch 8+ Review: Premium AMOLED Smartwatch With Rotatable Bezel

The VWAR JS Watch 8+

is a feature-rich smartwatch that focuses on premium design, a vibrant AMOLED display, long battery life, and lifestyle features like Bluetooth calling, local storage, and ChatGPT support. After using it for several days, here is a complete and honest review covering everything you need to know before buying.

Table of Contents

Design, Body & Rotatable Bezel

The VWAR JS Watch 8+ looks premium right out of the box. It features a solid build with a combination of white plastic and a steel frame. On the right side, there are three physical buttons, while the highlight is the rotatable bezel on the top.

The bezel can be used to scroll menus, zoom photos, and navigate the interface smoothly. The watch also supports removable straps, and two strap options are included in the box. The leather strap looks especially good and gives the watch a classy appearance.

Display, Brightness & Always-On Display

The smartwatch comes with a 1.32-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 × 466 pixels. The visuals are sharp, colors are vibrant, and blacks are deep, making the display look premium.

Outdoor visibility is good, and the brightness is sufficient for daylight usage.

Always-On Display

The VWAR JS Watch 8+ supports a real Always-On Display. Unlike many budget smartwatches, the actual watch face remains visible when AOD is enabled. You can use AOD with all watch faces and even customize colors.

Gesture controls include raise-to-wake, palm gesture, and tap-to-wake.

System Interface & Watch Faces

The system interface is simple and user-friendly:

  • Swipe down for control center
  • Swipe sideways for messages and quick apps
  • Swipe up to open the app menu

The watch faces are interactive and well-designed. Although the number of built-in watch faces is limited, their quality is excellent.

Using the HelloFit Pro app, you can download additional watch faces for free or create custom watch faces using photos from your phone gallery.

Sport Modes & Tracking Accuracy

The VWAR JS Watch 8+ includes multiple sport modes, but it does not have built-in GPS, which is a major drawback for fitness users.

During step-count testing, the results were disappointing. While an iPhone recorded 1129 steps, the watch recorded only 482 steps, which is a massive difference.

This makes the pedometer unreliable for accurate fitness tracking.

Health Sensors: Oximeter, Heart Rate & Sleep

The health sensors are one of the weakest aspects of this smartwatch.

Heart Rate & Oximeter

The heart rate and SpO2 readings were inconsistent and often incorrect. Even after workouts where the heart rate was above 120 BPM, the watch showed values around 60–90 BPM.

Incorrect readings appeared frequently, making these sensors unreliable.

Important: Do not rely on this watch for medical or serious health monitoring. Always use certified medical devices.

Sleep Tracking

Sleep tracking did not work at all during testing. Even after multiple nights, no sleep data was recorded.

Weather, Map & GPS Limitations

The weather app provides fairly accurate information and also shows forecasts for upcoming days.

The map app does not offer real navigation. It only displays your approximate city and province. Since there is no built-in GPS, all location data depends on your smartphone.

Mobile App, Apple Health & Syncing

The VWAR JS Watch 8+ uses the HelloFit Pro mobile application. Through the app, you can sync health data, manage watch faces, configure notifications, and adjust settings.

The watch also supports Apple Health syncing, which is a useful addition for iPhone users.

Bluetooth Calling, Notifications & NFC

Bluetooth Calling

You can receive and answer calls directly on the watch. Caller name and number are displayed, and you can control volume and end calls easily.

The watch also allows access to your phone’s voice assistant through Bluetooth calling.

Notifications & NFC

Notifications are supported, but long messages cannot be scrolled, and emojis are not displayed.

The watch includes an NFC chip, but it cannot be used for payments. It only works for shortcut-based features.

Local Storage: Music, Photos & Recorder

The VWAR JS Watch 8+ offers local storage, which is rare at this price point.

  • Store music directly on the watch
  • Connect Bluetooth earphones and listen without a phone
  • Store photos and zoom using the bezel
  • Record audio with live waveform display

File transfer speed is slow. Transferring a 6 MB file takes around 5–6 minutes.

ChatGPT Support on VWAR JS Watch 8+

The watch also includes ChatGPT support. It uses your smartphone’s internet connection to fetch responses.

By default, responses may appear in Chinese, but asking explicitly in English fixes the issue. While not essential, it is a fun and unique feature.

Utility Apps & Daily Tools

The watch includes several utility apps:

  • Calculator (no percentage function)
  • Stopwatch (runs in background, no lap support)
  • Alarm and timer (low volume)
  • Calendar
  • World clock

Battery Life & Charging

The VWAR JS Watch 8+ is powered by a 600 mAh battery.

  • Up to 7 days with normal usage
  • 2–3 days with Always-On Display enabled
  • Up to 50 days standby (claimed)

Battery performance is excellent and easily one of the strongest features of this smartwatch.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Premium design with rotatable bezel
  • Excellent AMOLED display
  • Real Always-On Display
  • Long battery life
  • Bluetooth calling
  • Local storage support
  • ChatGPT integration

Cons

  • No built-in GPS
  • Inaccurate step counter
  • Unreliable heart rate and SpO2 sensors
  • Sleep tracking does not work
  • Slow file transfer speed
  • No emoji support in notifications

Final Verdict: Should You Buy the VWAR JS Watch 8+?

The VWAR JS Watch 8+ is a stylish smartwatch with a premium display, excellent battery life, and useful lifestyle features. However, it is not suitable for serious fitness or health tracking.

Buy it if you want a good-looking smartwatch with a great screen and long battery life.

Avoid it if you need accurate health and fitness data.

Overall: A solid lifestyle smartwatch, but not recommended for fitness-focused users.
